DNS Shield Privacy Policy

by PiTech (Progressive Information Technology)

Last Updated: July 23, 2026

DNS Shield ("the app") is published by PiTech ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains how the app handles your information. In short: DNS Shield does not collect, store on our servers, or share any personal data.

1. No Data Collection

The app does not collect personal information, does not require an account, contains no advertising, and includes no third-party analytics or tracking. We operate no servers that receive your data.

2. Permissions

Uses Android's VPN service on-device to apply DNS and firewall rules. DNS queries go to the resolver you choose; no personal data is collected by the app.

3. Data Stored on Your Device

Any settings or history the app creates are stored locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device, and uninstalling the app removes it.

4. Children's Privacy

DNS Shield does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.

5. Open Source

DNS Shield is based on the open-source project Rethink DNS + Firewall by celzero, distributed under the Apache-2.0 license.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will appear on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.
